Itinerary:
- Day 1: Arrival in Italy. See the main highlights of this fantastic and historic city during a guided city tour (mixed driving & walking) of Rome where you will see among others the Colosseum and Roman Forum, the beautiful Piazza De Venezia, and the Baroque Trevi fountain, one of the most famous fountains in the world.
- Day 2: Rome, Vatican. You will go to St. Peters Square in the Vatican. Here you will join the Papal Audience with Pope Francis. Afterwards, meet your local official guide for a visit to the Vatican Museum to admire the frescoes of Michelangelo at the Sistine Chapel. See Greek and Roman antiquities and collection of Religious art at the museum. Afterwards, enjoy a guided visit of St. Peter’s Basilica in the Vatican the most magnificent church in Christendom.
- Day 3: Rome – Assisi. Enjoy lunch at a local restaurant before visiting the Upper and Lower Basilica of St. Francis with your Tour Leader. Also visit the Basilica of Saint Claire of Assisi, dedicated to Saint Claire and containing her remains.
- Day 4: Assisi – Sienna – Florence, Explore Siena’s UNESCO World Heritage-listed Old Town on your own; discover for example Siena’s central square, Piazza del Campo or the stunning Sienna Duomo. Travel to Florence, See the beautiful Piazza del Duomo, the Cathedral of Santa Maria della Fiore, Giotto’s Bell Tower, the Baptistery of St. John, Santa Croce, the 13th century Franciscan church with Cimabue’s famous crucifix , and the famous Ponte Vecchio (Old Bridge).
- Day 5: Florence – Pisa – Venice. travel to Pisa to see the famous Leaning Tower, the Baptistery and Pisa Cathedral. Enjoy some free time here for souvenir shopping. Enjoy lunch and then continue on to Venice, where you will have dinner and overnight.
- Day 6: Explore Venice, Italy.
